Hi! My name is Alicia Yourkiewicz and I am the Executive Director for Sunny Day Academy. I have been a part of the Sunny Day staff since February 2011 and am so proud of our fantastic reputation in Central Ohio.
My first year, I was a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and floating teacher at the Hilliard location. In 2012, I served as a school-age teacher in Hilliard, and then in the fall of 2012 was promoted to Floating Director for all our locations. As the company continued to grow, our founder and president Sara Miller realized that there was a need for an Executive Director, and she offered me that role in January of 2014.
I grew up in a small town outside of Cleveland; Grafton, Ohio. I received my Undergraduate Degree at The Ohio State University in Strategic Communication and Spanish. I also hold my Master’s Degree in Education. In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and practicing my photography skills. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Joe “J”, sons, Joey and Lane, and our dog, Brady. My sons attend SDA Hilliard and I feel very secure knowing they will be in the safest, cleanest, and most nurturing child care environment. My niece and nephew also attend Sunny Day Academy! I have a vested interest in seeing that all our facilities maintain high standards of quality & that your children are receiving the best care.
As Executive Director, it is my job to provide support for the teachers and administrators. I serve as a liaison between our President and each of the individual locations. I travel to all the buildings to ensure a consistency of excellence in all our operations. I’m responsible for many of the “behind the scenes” administrative duties so that the directors, assistant directors, teachers, and support staff can focus their attention on providing your children the quality individualized care that they deserve. I look forward to a future dedicated to your child’s education and their social wellbeing.
